How to Receive Jesus!
What do you need to do to go to heaven?
Some people think they can go to heaven by simply going to church, synagogue, mosque etc. Others think they can go to heaven by doing good, being a good person or a helpful neighbor. The Bible, on the other hand, points to only one way which is through Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6 NKJV)
The only way to go to heaven is through Jesus Christ.
If the world would come to an end today, do you know if you will go to heaven? If the answer is “No” or “I don’t know” then you need to know today by receiving Jesus in your life.
God loves you so much that He gave His only son to die for your sins so you don’t have to pay for your own sins.
John 3:16 says
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 TLB)
The way to respond to God’s love is to receive Jesus and take on the life that He offers which means being born again.
What does it take to be born again?
Being born again involves three very simple steps; they are as simple as ABC.
The ABC of Salvation
To be born again you have to follow the following three simple steps that guarantee you the eternal life that Jesus offers:
You must accept the testimony of what Jesus has done for you.
He was sent by the father to die for your sins. Accepting this testimony and accepting that he died on the cross for your sin is the first step to receiving Jesus (the free gift of salvation).
John 13:20 says:
I tell you the solemn truth, whoever accepts the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.” (John 13:20 NET Bible)
You have to believe in your heart that Jesus died, He was buried and on the third day He rose again from the dead. It is important that you believe in your heart that Jesus resurrected and is no longer in the grave; He is alive. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:3–5
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: (1 Corinthians 15:3–5 KJV)
Jesus Christ died for our sins; the sins of humanity. The Bible tells us that He was buried and on the third day He rose again according to the scriptures, so you have to believe that with your heart.
You have to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
In Philippians 2:11, the Bible tells us:
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:11 KJV)
All these steps can be summarized in Romans 10:9–10 which tells us what it takes to be born again:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10 KJV)
If you are not a Christian, it is about time for you to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life because that is the only way to go to heaven.
Are you ready to receive Jesus? Are you ready to be born again? You can accept the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life that Jesus offers by praying this very important prayer of your life:
Dear Father, I come to You right now as a person who needs Jesus in my life. Thank You Jesus for dying for all my sins. I accept the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life that You offer. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that He rose from the dead. Dear Jesus, come into my heart. Be my Lord and my Savior in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
